Business Immigration

We assist clients in many areas of business immigration, with expertise in the Entrepreneur and Immigrant Investor Programs, including the Quebec Investor and Entrepreneur Programs.

Federal Start-Up Visa

The Federal Start-Up Visa Program is narrow, but can offer a great pathway through business immigration. There are strict requirements, including at least a written commitment for an investment of at least $75,000 by one or more investor groups, a written commitment of investment of at least $200,000 by a venture capital fund, have commitments signed, prove language proficiency, in addition to educational requirements and having funds available.

This process is complex, but out office is ready to help you. Please contact us for additional information.

Self-Employed Class

Another path to permanent residency through business immigration is through self-employment. This is offered at both the federal and provincial levels. To qualify, an applicant must demonstrate relevant experience in the five years prior to applying, self-employment in cultural activities or athletics or participation, at the world-class level in cultural activities or athletics, or farm management experience.

It should be noted there are no conditions imposed on the applicant under this category, but the applicant must show the intention and ability to establish a business that will create employment opportunities for themselves, and that it will make a significant contribution to cultural activities or athletics in Canada. Alternatively, purchasing and managing a farm can also be an option. Please contact us if you would like to inquire about your qualifications.

Quebec Investor Program

Also narrow, but this program is notable as another pathway to permanent residency. To be eligible for the Investor Program, a strong candidate must show to have legally acquired at least $2,000,000 in net assets, have management experience in the last two of five years prior to applying, an intention to settle in Quebec, sign an investment agreement with a financial intermediary, make a five-year term investment of $1,200,000 with Investissement Québec, and obtain an attestation of learning about democratic values and the Quebec values.

Please contact our office if you believe you may qualify for this program.
